this thought has been killing my mind lately. what has happened to the
old trance? what happened to the beautiful sounds of Tilt, where did Andy
Gray’s music go off to? whatever happened to the trance I used to love
and dedicate my ears to? where did it go off too and how can I find it
again? after months of thinking I found the solution after reading people's
presentations on the site 'trance.nu', the answer was just right in front of
me. trance has always been with me, from the first moment I started
listening to it until this day where I'm still listening to it. how can this be
you might ask. aren't we listening to progressive? Sure we are, but this
progressive is something we've made up I believe. this progressive is
still our old trance, but it has evolved, it moved away from the old sounds
of the 90's, its what we are listening to now and will continue to listen to.
I moved along with the artists I loved, it wasn't a choice I made, I just
started listening to it naturally after purchasing Tiësto's 'In Search of
Sunrise 2' and 'Revolution' CDs. I immidiately fell in love with progressive
and started to go deeper into the sound. now I see alot others of the old
trance listeners moving in the same direction as me.
is trance dying?
of course its not, trance is progressive!
what is this new style of trance then you ask?
it isn't trance, its dance, euro trance, hard dance or something like that, it doesn't put you in trance,
it doesn't do all the stuff real trance can do with your mind and basically every track sounds the same.
unfortunately those artists have taken the good word trance and made it dirty and we've found
progressive. progressive did go dark, but things are lighting up. artists like Gabriel & Dresden, Way
Out West, Lemon8, Sasha, Charlie May, Junkie XL etc.. are designing and making the actual new
sound of trance and have been doing so for a while now. it is progressive house you might say, I
might agree. but still, this progressive house we are listening to right now does sound very much like
the old trance we listened to. I see this as the future sound of trance and by just checking with all my
friends that also are going progressive, I've finally come to the conclusion.
progressive is trance and
this is the new sound. All Hail!!
